Watch a Launch
from the Beach

Kennedy Space Center is just 60 miles south. On launch nights, the sky over Ormond Beach lights up in a way you'll never forget.

Few experiences match standing on a dark Florida beach as a rocket ignites on the horizon and climbs into the stars. The photos above were taken right here — from the beach just steps from our properties. SpaceX launches from Cape Canaveral frequently, and on a clear night the exhaust plume glows with colors you'd swear weren't real.

No tickets, no crowds, no parking fees. Just walk to the beach, look south, and watch history happen.

Tips for the Best View

A little prep goes a long way when you're chasing a launch.

Head to the Beach

Walk straight down to the ocean. An unobstructed southern horizon gives you the best sightline toward Cape Canaveral. No special spot needed — any open stretch of beach works.

Check the Schedule

Launch windows shift often. Check Space Launch Now or the Kennedy Space Center launch schedule the day before. Night launches are the most dramatic — the exhaust plume glows for minutes.

Give Your Eyes Time

Step away from your phone screen for 10–15 minutes before launch so your eyes adjust to the dark. You'll see far more detail in the plume and staging events.

Stay Close to the Action

Our Ormond Beach properties put you just steps from the ocean — and 60 miles from one of the world's most active launch sites.
